Erik Pold

Erik works within the Performing Arts as a stage director, choreographer, performer, teacher, and with artistic leadership. He holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam (1994-98), and a post-graduate degree in artistic and cultural leadership from Sydsjællands Universitetscenter/Odsherred Teatercenter (2009 – 2011).

In his work Erik is in engaged in exploring new areas of the Performing Arts, mixing different genres and artistic strategies in order to challenge contemporary theatre. A lot of his work, Erik creates as a self-producing artist within the framework of his own company Liminal Group (www.liminal.dk), a company he runs as the artistic co-director alongside fellow-artist Adelaide Bentzon since 1999.

In the season of 2014/15 he was appointed artistic director for a year at Teater Momentum in Odense where he created a season of three shows under the thematic headline ”Super Market”. In the season of 2015/16 he worked at Rialto Teatret where he staged the performance: "Lokalekspeditionen" and organised a number of events including a LAB on digital storytelling with Matt Adams from Blast Theory. He has also created a large amount of work in collaboration with different artists and companies in Denmark and abroad, among others: NORPOL/Daniel Norback, the Betty Nansen Theatre in Copenhagen, The Flea Theatre in New York City, Theseum theatre for the arts in Athens and Aaben Dans Productions in Roskilde, and as a regular guest performer with the Berlin based Gob Squad Arts collective.
