Signe Errboe

I am Signe Errboe. I was born in Denmark and raised in Bolivia, where I lived for 20 years. I’ve been living in Europe for the last 13 years, where I have studied, taught and practiced dance and performance. I graduated from the Danish National School of Performing with a postgraduate diploma as dance facilitator (danseformidling) in 2016.

During my studies I focused on children. For my thesis, I worked with children from the outskirts of La Paz, Bolivia, populated with migrants from the highlands. I collaborated in cross-cultural artistic projects in Brasil and Mali. Currently, I am executing a project funded by the Danish art fund (huskunstnerordningen), which I developed together with a fellow musician to work with children with immigration backgrounds (modtagerklasser) in different schools in Copenhagen. I have worked with children and adults through Ishøj Kultur Center, Sceneindgangen, CI-CPH and I am currently active with Stands&Dans.

I am interested in the role of the body and movement in our experience of the world. I want to understand integration not as a one-direction process, where culture is not assimilated, but created and a rich cultural background is a strength.
