Veronica Dyas

Veronica Dyas is an artist working primarily through theatre, new text & installation. Facilitation, Action and Love are crucial to her practice. She studied Drama & Theatre Studies with Sociology at Trinity College Dublin and completed her Masters in Text & Performance Studies at RADA & King's College London in 2008.

As Artistic Director of Roundabout Youth Theatre, The Reco, Ballymun Regional Youth Resource (2009 - 2011), she also worked alongside the BRYR Team on collaborative Youth Arts Projects including Stand Up Awareness Week, Ballymun PRIDE, Otherworld & LIFT Youth Arts Festivals. She regularly works in Youth & Community Organisations, experience includes facilitation across three Transition Year groups in Finglas, Whitehall & Cabra for PRESS PLAY School of Identity Museum, Dublin’s Culture Connects 2016-7; AD & coordinator of the inaugural Bally Mac Sheriff Halloween Festival across the communities of Ballybough, Sean Mac Dermott Street & Sheriff Street 2016; Seanachaí Project for Children’s Books Ireland 2016; Dublin Youth Theatre, National Association of Youth Drama, The Base Ballyfermot, Whitehall School Completions Programme, a number of projects with SAOL Project, The Abbey Theatre's Community & Education Department, and Axis Ballymun.

HERE & NOW (2012-2015) her creative research project exploring housing, homelessness, and the practice of long distance walking was presented in stages while concurrently facilitating with Focus Ireland. In 2011, she presented ‘In My Bed’ made in collaboration with Niamh Burke-Kennedy for ABSOLUT Fringe, re-staged at Forest Fringe at The Lir and HOME Festival Cork.

Veronica is resident artist at Dublin Fringe Festival for 2016-17 working on a new text for performance.
