Christine Verheyden

The strength of Christine Verheyden (born in 1981 in Belgium) takes its origin in the variety of her studies (Archaeology – Egyptian Archaeology – Drama – Cultural management – resident at the Jan van Eyck academy).

As a professional actress (stage and screen) the vulnerability of her work lies in the fact that she is not afraid to tell stories about the dark sides of life, and that she is always looking for ways to comfort her audience with the theatre plays she creates.

She likes to create on site–specific places, chosen in such a way that the location becomes a character in itself. With her background in archaeology, she is able to situate a specific subject in a universal and historical context.

Christine loves working with and creating for young audiences, as she has proven in some of her much praised work.
