Come and join us to hear about three innovative projects that explore taking performances and projects direct to the places where people live.

Quarantine
Richard Gregory and Renny O'Shea will talk about Tenancy, a year-long programme of artists residencies and events responding to the rapid development of Manchester and Salford, asking who is driving change; who is benefitting; who is left out? Quarantine are renting a two-bed home on the border of the two cities for a year, and inviting artists from the UK, Europe and beyond to live there, get to know the neighbourhood and neighbours, and make new work, leaving behind a creative trace of their stay.

Glas(s) Performance
Jess Thorpe and Tashi Gore will present their 2011-13 project Albert Drive with Tramway and Designer Rachel O'Neill, a large-scale arts project involving artists, volunteers, local businesses, residents, families, individuals and communities in a creative exploration into the idea of neighbour from the perspective of one street in Pollokshields, Glasgow.  They will share with us what happened, why they wanted to work with Albert Drive residents and any changes in their artistic practice as a result of this project.

Cultured Mongrel
Emma Jayne Park is currently leading on Living Room Performances, a research project into developing quality theatre and dance performance that can be reshaped into intimate home-based performances that consider the specific needs of people who are house-bound for medical reasons. In undertaking this research Emma aims to develop a model for re-scaling and re-framing performance which can be employed by all performance makers in future to allow individuals living with chronic illness and their families an opportunity to bond over a shared live experience as it exists in both a public and a private space that can be controlled to meet healthcare needs.

In addition to these three presentations there will be time for questions, talking together and informal networking.

This event is part of the PUSH+ Home Lab, supported by the Traverse Theatre.
