The official launch of PUSH+ took place on Thursday 6 December as part of the 2018 Showbox Festival. Festival delegates and local artists joined us at Salt, a nomadic art project and venue. Based on the Oslofjord, overlooking Oslo Opera House Salt is also one of the world's largest saunas!
After a welcome to Showbox from Ådne Sekkelsten, Director of PUSH+ partner Scenekunstbruket, we presented PUSH+ and revealed the new project website at www.pushproject.eu which went live that evening. Joining Ådne were PUSH+ partners: Fiona Ferguson and Pamela Walker from Imaginate, Gerhard Verfaillie of Krokusfestival, and Adjjima Na Patalung from our Associate Partner Bangkok International Children's Theatre Festival. You can read more about our project partners here.
As part of our Showbox visit, we were delighted to see Only a wet mouth created and performed by PUSH Gender Lab artist Katja Brita Lindeberg and artist Madeleine B. Nilsen. Exploring how women are portrayed and viewed in the West, this performance reminded us why we started PUSH and PUSH+ in the first place. Kjempebra Katja.
