Untitled Project

Having had the opportunity to share experiences and interrogate the theme of Failure with a group of artists at the initial lab, Sarah used her Residency time to reflect upon her own work and direct relationship to theme. She developed an idea that is a potential new theatre project, looking at girls and their attitude towards power. An integral part of the process during the residency was be the chance to work with young people in order to explore what makes them feel powerful, confident and hopeful in today's world.

Sarah Baxter is an Irish freelance opera and theatre director, who is interested in a wide range of genres and styles of storytelling across all forms. She is thrilled to be able to continue her exploration and relationship to the theme of failure during the PUSH+ Failure Residency at The Ark in January 2020.

Sarah has recently directed and co-written INO's The Deadly World of Opera, part of Musictown Festival. In summer 2019, she has directed two new plays, These Stupid Things by Hugh Travers (White Label), part of The Festival of Curiosity, and The Roaring Banshees by John Morton and Peter McGann (Devious Theatre).
