Jef Van Gestel is an actor and director. He graduated from Maastricht Theater Academy and won the Ton Lutz Prize for talented emerging artists. He worked as an actor and/or theatre maker for HET LAB Utrecht, fABULEUS, Kopergietery, MAAS Theater, etc... He forms, together with musician Wannes Deneer and choreographer Karolien Verlinden, the artistic leadership of the company Tuning People (Belgium, www.tuningpeople.be). His work is visual and physical, unpolished, poetic, and is playing with the absurdity of daily live. Sometimes a single object or material can be the start of a performance, which is often inspired by fine-art (visual-art).
